Excessive Mace use in CJC

CJC correctional officers use mace reflexively. They use mace against people who are restrained in handcuffs or secure cells. They use mace against people who are medically vulnerable and people in the midst of a mental health crisis.

Officials do not want evidence of this abuse released. Facing a lawsuit, city officials deleted nearly 80% of video footage that was the subject of discovery requests in the case.

The citizens of St. Louis deserve to see the harm being done in their name.
