Amaris Montes
Amaris Montes is our Director of West Coast Litigation and Advocacy. She began her time at Rights Behind Bars as a Skadden Fellow. Before joining RBB, she attended UCLA School of Law where she held specializations in Critical Race Studies and the Public Interest Law and Policy Programs. During law school she focused her work on challenging prison, jail, and immigration detention conditions through her work with organizations such as the Southern Center for Human Rights, the National Immigration Law Center, and through her work with the Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy: Prisoners' Rights Clinic.
