D Dangaran

D Dangaran is our Director of Gender Justice. In this role, they specialize in using litigation and advocacy to support incarcerated trans people seeking access to gender-affirming care. They began their time at RBB as a Movement Lawyering and Litigation Fellow sponsored by the Harvard Law Review Fellowship and they are currently sponsored by the Justice Catalyst Fellowship. During law school, they advocated for trans people behind bars through organizations such as the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project, Lawyers for Human Rights in South Africa, GLAD, and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project. Their published writing focuses on restorative justice, healthcare access for trans people behind bars, Native Hawaiian land reparations, and prison abolition. After law school, D clerked on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. D serves as a co-chair of the National Trans Bar Association.
